Fab Find – Fan

My latest find to share with you happens to be a vintage (and working) GE fan.  My guess is that it is from the 50’s or so, given the fact that it is not safe by any standards today.  But that is part of it’s charm.  It is in perfect working condition, and in fact, we use it all the time!  It’s nice and quiet, and pretty powerful.

We happened across it at Salvage Chic, in Pembroke, MA.  If you happen to have a car and live anywhere in the Boston area, it is totally worth a trip down there.  Christine, one of the owners, has tons of fabulous finds, and I don’t think I saw a piece of furniture in there for over $300.  During my staycation next week I hope to make a trip down there, because it’s a fabulous place to go.

Some of her stuff is totally quirky, there is tons of vintage, and Christine is super nice to boot.  She’ll even keep an eye out for certain items you might be hunting for.

This fan happened to catch our eye not only because it is fabulously vintage, but my husband also happens to work for GE, so it seemed fitting that we should get it.  The fact that it works is a bonus (although he would have wired it up to work had it not), and at $45, it was a total steal.

I am loving that vintage fan! It gets so hot in our bedroom and I really don’t like my ugly fan…but that one is sweet! I probably won’t ever find one as sweet as that but they do have a company that sells fans made to “look” vintage.
